A ... since the question is are there advantages of an impulse turbine over a reaction turbine ... C would be only valid if the advantage is for the reaction turbine.

In terms of energy input versus energy output, a reaction turbine is far more efficient than the old-style impulse turbine, which just had the force of the liquid from the nozzle hitting paddle blades.Read more : http://www.ehow.com/info__advantages-reaction-turbine-design.html
