NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR:The person who is reponsible for the wholte network operations

NETWORK ENGINEER:The person who has asigned any task regarding the network to lookafter it.

Network administrator = LAN side i.e. Servers, desktops - Network Engineer = WAN Side Servers, switches & Routers!

network engineer, could be anywhere. network administrator mostly stick on a specific workplace.

In CISCO Term

CCIE = Network Architect CCNP = Network Engineer CCNA = Network Administrator 

Both network administrator and network engineer sounds to be the same but  difference can only be based on the job description from one organization to another

The both terms are related to Network Transmission and Equipment configuration.

 

Network Engineer is responsible to maintain end to end transmission medias like Fiber, Copper etc.

Network Administrator is responsible for the configuration of Network Devices like routers, switches, firewalls other equipment related to connectivity between sites.

network engineer and network administrator both are responsible for network transmission and configuration. the difference is network engineer responsible for the end side of the network he is supporting to administrator and network administrator works on switches, routers and firewalls etc..............
