Define Honesty ?

Honesty refers to a facet of moral character and connotes positive and virtuous attributes such as integrity, truthfulness, and straightforwardness, including straightforwardness of conduct, along with the absence of lying, cheating, theft, etc. Furthermore, honesty means being trustworthy, loyal, fair, and sincere.

The definition of honesty is the quality of being truthful. An example of honesty is telling the truth even after doing something wrong. we also said that fairness and straightforwardness of conduct.

At the same time, I may say that it may perhaps be the most misused term to characterize a personality. The most corrupt political leader will also have some honest people with him, the robbers also, miscreants also, culprits also.  Many a time the honest may not a get a required recognition at the right place.

Honesty means being trustworthy. The most important and significant part of being honest is being trustworthy not only to the outside world but also to you.

One cannot be completely honest and straightforward simultaneously towards all. Honesty is defined as truthfulness and being void of deceit, yet such a virtue is hard to honour as a part of the social order as common sense and other virtues may be in conflict with honesty, like lying to an elderly patient to comfort them etc. But one must be totally honest in all commitments, whether towards duty, family and/or society and choose where one has to be straightforward, there are no better examples of such conduct than every single religious scripture of every religion available, and today internet makes those interpretations available , best suited for modern life and corporate culture.
