I know a lot of different types of cast iron piles. The different types you can use for all of the above. With certain extras. But the big advantage is that they can take more then just vertical loads.

I believe you are looking for answer D , however Mr. Wolf Klaas Kinsbergen has a good point it has more application abilities than for vertical loads

As given answers, I'll go with choice D 

Cast Iron Piles prefer to manufacture with a big circumference cross - sections owing to increase of touch area with the soil so this leads to earn extra strength of the loads
