Good customer care should not be costly. However this is why companies should invest in their employees and train the employees well. I don't  think a product should cost more than it should just because it has "good customer service".... that should be the goal of any organization/company... to provide good customer care.

Good customer service would lead to ur customers turning promoters from detractors. They would be silent and unpaid advertisers of the co. The long term cost of retaining existing customersand geting news customers would be much lower.

Yes, it costs for sure money hiring people, training them. But all the investment is to keep your customers happy and use it to attract new customers.
