The topic of fuel Energy Calculations is a large deep one and I can provide a lot of data based on my practical field work and academic background, regarding the dry and saturated heating value concept it is related to the water vapour content estimated in the gas analysis and usually the value of the staurated heating value equals to98.3% of the heating value calculated on dry basis.

Usually the energy calculations are done on dry bassis and this complies with the physical meaning of the gross calorific value which is delivered to the client and can be calculated by chromatographic analysis of the gas sample to determine its quality parameters and by the use of the volumetric calculations the actual amount of energy supplied to the client can be calculated.
