Dear Irina,

I feel each HR person and line manager who interview candidates for their business need to be trained on "Behavioural Events Interview" technique. This skill, when sharpened, assisted by "competency mapping" done in the organization will drastically raise recruitment skills.

I think giving more time on table talk, and in depth discussion regarding their skill can help us to explore and find out the best candidates.

As nicely explained by Mr. Krishnamurthy that 'Behavioral Events Interview' technique is the important skill to be developed for interviewing skills. At the same what ever they do to feign the truth the candidate can also make out that the interviewer is not fully equipped with his presentation. Those conditions the interviewer should sit along with seniors (Initially) and gain experience to handle independently later.

There is no doubt that, if mastered the skill they are a natural result of the experience and I repeat the opinion you have to grope the possibility of developing skills and is the most important thing, because skill alone is not enough you need to develop advanced capabilities.

I would say that a HR interviewer should be professional by focusing on what the applicant has as skills and how they can be fit into the company requirements.

In other words, HR interviewer should be able to know if the interviewee is a best fit by having few asking few questions. It could be kind of psychological skill (based on experience ), therefor practicing on what he/she asks and what answers are expected should help in targeting the right candidate !
