What is the meaning of "Benefits Administration" in HR?

It is the process of managing and maintaining the benefits for the employees of an organisation. It is often associated with HR department in a big organisation, which also helps the employees to be trained in understanding how the benefits work for them. 

Benefit administration is the process of benefit planning, processing, recording and disbursing.

Benefit  comprises a range of  benefits given to employees like.. insurance, welfare activities, housing , medical benefits & medical reimbursement , health & safety, social security, membership etc.

Its Administration means , timely and planned adherence , systematic record keeping & retrieving , proper budgeting , strategic level planning, grade wise and structure wise; as to how and to whom what sort of benefits must be given.  

at my place of work, the benefits administrator plans,directs and updates members(employees) on workman's compensation scheme,insurance benefits,pension ,retirement planing ,nomination of beneficiaries. together with the board of trustees and the chairman the employees are updated and advised to seek guidance whenever they have noted errors in their yearly(AGM) distributed remuneration update form.

Benefit administration: 

Also a Software that helps companies manage and track employee participation in benefits programs such as healthcare, flexible spending accounts, pension plans, etc. This software helps automate and streamline the complex and otherwise time-consuming tasks of benefits administration.
