First of all MS office can't be in this comparison. Solidworks is a much user friendly software and i like it more. But when we look for advance options ProE/Creo stands a step above. Creo modelling works in the way the part being manufactured ( i mean the references and features). AutoCAD is an outstanding tool which always servers its part differently.

Hi

It depends on your profession.

If you are engineer you will use suitable programs like Autocad2D\\3D and other programs.

I think Ms Office programs as (word, Excel, Power point, Outlook) are important to any person in any field.

MS Office is best software because remaining software are used for drafting designing and modelling which can only used by engineers but ms office is such type of software which is use able for every one and is very necessary software for every professional.

Okay, I started out with Microstation and still prefer it over AutoCad, but then AutoDesk purchased the3D Intergraph version when Intergraph became a private company again... which left Bentley with the PC version ...AutoCad is still one of the most used CAD programs and is easy to use.

CATIA was developed for3D modeling and is very temperamental; I like its "dumbed down version" Solidworks better.

SolidWorks is easy to use if you do3D modeling

The overall assessment is ... it depends what you need to do CATIA and SolidWorks are for advanced drafting or rather modeling.

Most people like the CAD program they started out with best...

MS Office is one of the most used programs for business applications...

Microsoft Office has been really helpful throughout my academic life, and seems to be an easy and fast way of working.

These softwares are peculiar to the users office demands so there is no basis for comparison. MS Word is the number one software for the Office Administrator or PA whereas AutoCAD is best for an Engineer or Architect

It Depends upon the nature of work or design that you are going to do, AutoCAD is for 2D drawings. Solidworks ,CATIA & PRO-E , are for 3D modeling, Designer Chose software on the basis of Manufacturing aspects like , Sheet metal,3DModeling, Mould Design,Surfacing,Larg Assemblies.

For larg assemblies CATIA is used.

Personally I like Pro-e Because of it' features. and Advance Engineering
