"Leadership” means setting an example.
When you find yourself in a position of leadership, people follow you.
As the leader, the first person to take one for the team should be you if you expect others to do the same.
Rather than looking at a leadership position as one entitled to perks and privileges, an effective leader must view his or her own sacrifice as a consistent method for realizing their vision.
Some leaders within in an organization may have (1)Great pattern recognition, (2) Intelligence ,(3)Trend eagerness,(4) Personnel approaching and (5)Self-reliance while some others leaders within that organization may not have these criteria.
Those leaders who display these attributes will have the kind of feeling on which we should rely.
There will be times when you need above & beyond performance from your team or co-workers for your vision to be achieved.
But the average person will not simply go above & beyond without being lead.
If you want to achieve your vision, you will need to motivate and appropriately reward your team's excellent efforts.
To motivate and earn support from members, in some times leaders needs to go beyond, but in major cases leader must go to above for the whole well-being of the organization as well as for all members.

As a "Leader", best motivation will be able to communicately clearly and coincisely with their peers so as to get the work done efficiently and show the peers their growth path accordingly, if not in the same dept/process you can even recommend peers in the dept/process of their choice(depend on availability of vacant position in that dept)

That keeps the peers motivated, apart from financial incentives which is regarded the "most motivated element"
