First you will need to buy a stretched canvas that has been primed. So you will have to know the size of your intended painting. Then you will need oil paint brushes of at least4 or five different sizes from smallest to biggest depending on the subject you want to paint. Then of course you will need to buy oil paints. These you can buy in individual colors. So choose the colors that you will need. Initially you will need a bottle of thinner for starting the initial colors on the canvas. Buy a small bottle of linseed oil for diluting the oil paints with it as you need more oil in the final stages of your painting. Also buy a palette where you can put the oil colors  for mixing. A palette knife would come in handy for mixing different colors so buy at least one. Good luck!
