At What rate your employees are paid Overtime? What is the maximum permissible Overtime (hrs) work per day per employee? Please specify the area also.

IN SAUDI ARABIA - Business Sector Organizations :

Rate of employee's Overtime paid are at50 % of basic salary. 

The maximum permissible Overtime (hrs) work per day are four hours per employee. Area Saudi Arabia.

LEGAL :

Under Article151 of the labor law in Saudi Arabia :

The Organization pays extra wage to the worker to meet overtime extra wage equal to his normal wage plus (50%) fifty percent.  If the work happened in weekly off day or holidays or public holidays, the employer shall pay to the worker an extra wage of a normal time and overtime.

In UAE on normal conditions:  OT is paid mostly for workers and some companies they do give for site supervisors. working hours is8 hrs /day and not to exceed48 hours /week. A maximum of two hours shall be allowed to work as OT in a day. Anything above8 hours shall be calculated as OT. 

OT Calculation : Hours  X1.25 times of his wages during normal days.

OT calculation (Fridays): Hours X1.5 times of his wages.

Over time will be double not more than06 hours per day. But it depends on organization to organization. It should not be more than20% of gross salary.

In South Africa, there are no fix amount and hours for overtime. Public holidays, its double.

 we pay overtime ==Basic salary x1.5 (hourly rate) x(no. of OT hours) divided by40 hrs(office hours) for shift workers you divide by48 hrs for example john is earning43,000 shs as basic,you calculate it as43,000*1.5/40=1612.5*14 OT hrs=22,575 is the total OT before tax.

for a person to qualify for OT he must have worked for40 + hours for office hours and48+ hours for shift workers.

no fixed hours but its subject to approval or emergencies.

Based on my experience in the USA, the work week is40 hours, Sat and Sun off. Anything over40 hours is considered OT and calculated at time and a half (as mentioned by Shukri Adan)
