From experience, I have found that One to One coaching after school by a different teacher other than the one teaching the student in the school is the only answer.
I have had E graders achieve high percentage B grades, and even A grade.

Improving a dull student requires a tailored approach that takes into consideration the specific needs and challenges of the individual. Here are some steps that can be taken to help improve the academic performance of a 10th-grade student:

  1. Identify the underlying issues: Take the time to understand the reasons behind the student's lack of interest or poor performance. It could be related to a lack of understanding, low self-confidence, learning disabilities, or other personal factors. Identifying these underlying issues will help in designing an appropriate strategy.

All student's sucess is important for us as educators. The dull student needs help from the all school community members- teachers, admin, & parents. Firstly, identify his /her weak areas, then 1-1 extra coaching for academic areas & school counselor for motivational upliftment. His/her favorite teacher can be asked to mentor as an added advantage.

Dear  friends, As  a school  teacher, I  can  say that the dull students are so-called  dull because of lack of  motivation to  achieve their goal in life besides, inadequate  knowledge of  the  subject.
If the  student has reached std10, then I  presume it was by fluke or just pushed to that class undeservingly.
In fact,  the child's aptitude also needs to  be assessed for that matter.
Then,  should be counselled in that respect, as  to  where he should focus to  have a  good future.
Certainly,  this approach will  be beneficial  for that  student  who is  unhappily struggling  to  study  for  his  board  exam.
Thank you.
Hope I  have answered  the question correctly.
Regards, Mrs.
Aalifia.
