The technique suggest that right after asking the respondents about their intention to purchase/use a product/service, if they responded positively i.e. (4 or5 out of5)
You can verify their answer by asking them:
Would you mind if I asked the company representative to visit you next week to sell you the product/service?
This question will put them at stake and will prove whither they have real intention to buy your product/service or not.
The answer will help researcher to give more accurate sales estimates.
