General Accounting is the combination of Accounts Receivable,Accounts Payable,General Ledger,Fixed Asset Accounting etc. In Big organizations due to their huge volume they are making separate department for each Category. So we can see AP AR GL etc separately in Big companies.Especially MNCs are following this.Having General Accounting experience is qualifying the person to apply for AR, AP & GL. But we should have excellent knowledge in the particular Section.If you want to handle AP(Accounts Payable),you should be able to handle all the activities related with AP.
