What sort of systems should contain your dream building ?
In latin, the word domus means home. The word domotics means literally home robotics. The field of domotics encompasses all phases of smart home technology, including the highly sophisticated sensors and controls that automate temperature, lighting, security systems, and many other functions
The building management and home automation include all technical and studies aimed at integrating buildings (individual, industrial, administrative, commercial) all automation for:
- Domotics systems (infrared, radio frequency, BUS, powerline, voice ...)
- Access management and alarm
- Energy management and renewable energy
- Environmental Management (doors, shutters, alarms, lighting, heating ...)
- Communication (Internet, GSM ...)
- Air conditioning, electric heating, oil and gas.
These techniques must meet security needs, ambient comfort, convenience and energy saving activities. They unify systems that are commonly independent as:
- Technical maintenance of buildings
- Control of thermal comfort, acoustic and visual
- Economic energy management and building
- Assistance to elderly, disabled
- Internal and external communication building
- People and property security.
By integrating them into a CPU, they allow synergies between these different systems. Owning a CPU, allows a multitude of possibilities including monitoring and remote management of buildings.
In short, domotics allows a new type of habitat: intelligent buildings.

Technology of household appliances and buildings.
Domotics is a field which involves the creation of automated controls for homes, ranging from lights which click on when someone enters a room to smart washing machines which select the appropriate cycle and time for a load of clothing. People may refer to domotics as home automation or "smart home systems," depending on the region they live in and their approach to the field. Domotics can encompass both hardware and software, with customized systems built specifically for the purpose along with existing systems which are modified.
