Is there any disadvantage to an organization if the consumer's experience greatly exceeds expectations?

Disadvantage with the company yes is the time invested if the returns are not that challenging or effecting directly on the business also you should be able to carry it through with your current infrastructure. if you see the things on longer run, the behavioral changes, which takes time,  has to happen hand in hand so that the whole team is in line to the new forecasted changes.

No there is no disadvantage for the company in case the customer's experience is way better than the expectations. Rather this situation should be tackled as an opportunity to ensure that this "more than expected delivery" is marketed and highlighted well. 

Also the organization might go ahead and decide to create more price points for its audience with little variations in the performance of the products. This will give the product the additional flexibility.
