Using genuine spare parts often ends up saving money compared to aftermarket spare parts, due to longer life, less breakdown  times, better performance, lower fitment costs, less administration and spare parts interpretation time, a near-zero rejection rate and no cross reference errors.

Convincing a customer is very simple in case he happens also to be an Engineer, you can clearly explain the technical details to him- such as the differences in clearances, tolerances , fits and quality in the original as well as the duplicate parts. However the real challenge is to convince the customer who does not have the technical knowledge of such things, then you explain to them with the help of statistics wherein the losses incurred as well as the dangers of using non genuine spares are clearly laid out to them. explain to them the loss of life as well as the increase in maintenance costs.  and then by being reasonable they will surely understand if you convey the message to them properly.
