I can tell you from the many companies I have worked for "no".
It was said that fresh ideas and processes were warranted, needed, and welcomed.
At the end of the day there was too much fear and there was a lack of support for stepping out into the unknown.
At the end of it all the tried and true always won and the complaints continued.
I think to be an out of the box thinker and make an effective change in an organization you have to be a special kind of person and be willing to endure backlash because you will be swimming against the current.
You are fighting to innovate or change processes that have been in play for a long time.
There sometimes just isn't enough substantial proof to back up unorthodox ideas.
You have to be a stellar salesperson to sell the idea.
That is just my experience.

The keyword to success of any business is innovations.
As a current employee, i cannot disclosed any ideas that may be harmful to the integrity of my company.
But speaking about innovations, I think all companies must go out of their way and allot budget for R&D and continuously innovate the current management system, its technologies and customer relations as a strategy to sustain its business.

Yes! First of all, we live a global and competitive world where competition is fearsing and challanges are available. so if you do not think out of the box to out smart you competitors and also bring in new ideas through innovation, then you are not ready to work or operate in this modern century world.

So thinking out side the box rationally, helps the organisation a lots especially in terms of maketing and key decision making for the growth of the organisation and most times thinking out of the box brings the right solution to the problems.
