To me, it's not about your rank, or how many points you have, it's about the quality of your questions and answers in Specialties.
I noticed that you're an English teacher, so for example, let's say you needed to hire an English teacher to work with you.
You might see their CV and question their English skills.
They might be great at English, but you might disregard their CV because of where they studied, or what they studied in college.
However, if they use Specialties a lot, then you'll be able to go through their questions and answers and assess their English and communication skills better, and realize how good they are.
People who are really good at what they do will eventually start to stand out with the most up-voted answers.

These ranks are the criteria that employer consider easy to measure candidates remotely by observing candidate's activities. There is no other options except face to face interview  to understand about candidates knowledge, attitude and personality. When employer finds two profiles meeting their requirement, they will select the one which is having speciality ranks for interview.

Probably not but it keeps the mind active as there are many questions that would not normally arise in your working environment.  It also gives me the chance to study and discuss the opinions of others, adding to my own knowledge in the event that a particlar question should arise and I could be prepared.
