Absolutely, we are talking dress code not a uniform. 

A uniform is showing professionalism too.

Yes of course they have the right  unless the dressing code affects the dignity of the employee, customs or tradition of the society or the country, religion of the employee etc.

Yes they do. They have every right to tell you how to dress and what to wear.

 

If a uniform is required then companies also should provide the shirt with company logo.. It is more professional.
