In United States, Social Security Disability Benefits, is the inability to engage in any substantial gainful activity (SGA) by reason of any medically determinable physical or mental impairment which can be expected to result in death or which has lasted or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than12 months.

Social Security pays disability benefits to you and certain members of your family if you have worked long enough and have a medical condition that has prevented you from working or is expected to prevent you from working for at least12 months or end in death.

Social Security Disability benefits vary because of how much you pay into Social Security over the years. The state you live in does not matter. SSD Benefits are Federal Benefits and they are hard to get. No one gets them the first application you will have to appeal
