One of the values my company said they promoted was honesty, integrity, and customers first. However, the company culture was antithetical to those values promoted. Rather profit was king. that should have been the value system. At the end of the day they wanted the employees to do whatever they could to get the customer invested. I argued if we actually put the customer first and stop trying to undermine their intelligence then we would build a strong customer base and the profit would follow. The company was not willing to spend the time. The foundation of the company already had rot in it and the customer perception of the company was horrible. Everywhere I would turn I was told by customer how much they disliked the company. As an employee whose personal value system values people I tried my best to be a beacon of light. It was difficult and many times I went home stressed. Trying to repair the broken trust while being told that I still need to just sell by any means possible.
Company values are important. What is more important is that the culture and operations are streamlined and operate within the values set. When you have a company who does this you have something great. Values should be more than a statement in the corporate handbook.

Dear Maher,
Previously, when I started my career, I worked for a reputed organization, almost15 years ago.
When I look back now, I feel grateful for the values that I learnt then. Astonishing thing is that I INCULCATED many VALUES there even without knowing that i am learning. That was the PROFOUND TRADITIONAL CULTURE they were practicing.
They are VALUES that are CHERISHED by any and all organizations. It is deep in the blood of the organization. I know only a few companies do match such tradition.
> Customer Satisfaction (now customer delight)
> Employee Welfare (in true sense)
> Quality, at all levels
> Strictly dont-offer-any-Corruption attitude
> ZERO tolerance on integrity issues
> Strive to be within TOP-3 in whatever business they do
> Excellent compensation package
> Appreciate employee loyalty
The above are some of the values that have made the company one among FORTUNE500!!!
