Corrective maintenance is repairing something after it has broken. It is reactionary If your tire has a puncture, you repair it. 

 

You also have scheduled maintenance such a changing your oil and air filters. 

 

There is also preventative maintenance, which is when you replace something so that it won't break. For an example, on an aircraft, the wings would be removed, inspected and replaced before they failed.
