If I asked you to tell me what you remembered most about your favorite teacher growing up, I bet you wouldn’t say much about the subject matter. Instead, I’d expect you to describe how he or she made you feel as you learned that subject matter—the sense of excitement or discovery you felt, or the safety to take chances and make mistakes, or the confidence that you were valued as a human being, warts and all.
1) Get to know your students and the lives they live.
2) Actively listen to students.
3) Ask students for feedback.
4) Reflect on your own experience with care.
Love is reciprocated. Better chance of students loving you would be if;
Never thought of making my students love me...Lol...anyway, I guess it happens kind of naturally. If you are honest, passionate about your job, i.e. teaching, always well-prepared and at the same time keep respecting them, empathysing, then they are all yours... we all remember from the school times some teachers...they were just themselves and that's why we loved them...
Ey, it just goes like in this song: 'I can't make you love me if you don't...I can't make your heart feel something it won't''
...as smiple as that...
I am not so sure about the term 'love me,' however, I think the key to success is being genuine. As an educator one must build trust and genuine relationships with the student body, the institution and the broader community. From there, anything is possible.
treating students is not an easy step in the learning and teaching process .There are different ways that may help with some students :
have a good friend relationship based on respect and understanding
have some funny breaks through the teaching time
let them feel they are having fun while studying by engaging them in as many games as possible
plant the trust in them ; that they are excellent in English
give them the feeling that they are progressing and improving in English
these are just some of the techniques that you may use and will please some of the students , and they will love English gradually .
I praise my students every time when they do something good or have some small achievements. I let them know that I care about them, and I will be patient for their restrictions, help them to overcome obstacle.
I had a similar situation here in Ghana, in the school I use to teach. The pupils/ students loved me very much. Even more than any of the teachers. Well, though some of the teachers hated me because of this, I never gave up until I led my lovely Students to write their final examination. Here are some few things I recommend you try: First, be like a mother to them. Love them as you will to your own child/children.What do mothers do? They don't let their wards go hungry, they try to led their children to GOD, they also teach and monitor their children on the right path etc.
Again, you pray with them whenever you stand before them. When you do this, it becomes a daily routine. And it will amaze you to see how fast your students will begin to love and like you.
When you have done your part, YOU LEAVE THE REST TO GOD FOR HIM TO DO HIS PART. LOL
There's no formula for making students fall in love with you. I believe learning how they are different from each other, accepting their differences and not comparing them to each other makes it easy for them to remember you as well. Give it a try and you will definitely see positive results.
Just be patient with them, try to understand characteristics,
First understanding the age you are dealing with and what are their interests so you can communicate easily , also caring for them and showing it and giving attention to each and every student, enhancing their confidence by depending on them as if you are one team. explain a primary plan for the year and how you (Teacher and Students) are responsible to learn all together.
Indulge your class with open discussions, knowing their opinions and interests out loud and finally always teach with fun ways and keep away from routine education... always let them anticipate your next class by planning it with them. and finally it is very important that they feel comfortable in the classroom, so they can be involved in making a theme that fit their interest.
try not to get in conflicts with them or showing disrespect they will all turn against you.
