Default drawing directory has sub directories having the information using the windows commands. The applications, which are going to be used, are highlighted, and by using drag and drop features those application will be placed in the default directory. The properties for the application are selected from the menu and dialog boxes displayed on the front.

Specify a default location for the Select File dialog box.

1.    At the Command prompt, enter REMEMBERFOLDERS, and then enter0.

2.    On the Windows desktop, right-click the product shortcut icon and choose Properties.

3.    On the Shortcut tab, in the Start In box, enter the desired default folder path for opening or saving drawing files.

Hi,

Yes, this is the same method I know : setting REMEMBERFOLDERS to0, then right-click on the shortcut and change the path in the Start In field.

But somehow, as I remember, some people had problems with the REMEMBERFOLDERS command on2013 AutoCAD version, so it may not work for you if you have this version.

The directory from where you open is remembered, make default in autocad and Windows8 is sometimes difficult so this is an easy way.
