Psichologically, brain identifies the red colour with alert and danger (think about the traffic signals that have red colour). One of our firsts instincts is the survaival one so, with red colour they catch our brain's interest and we will try to know what's going on. Another association with red colour is sex. Another of our primary instincts. You can take a look to the first and second levels of the Maslow Piramid and you will understand better what I mean. Sometimes attack our psichollogy with primal and basic instincts is the easiest way to catch our attention.
