A leader is a visionary.  Someone who always has the big picture in mind and focusses on the collective goal of the organisation.  There is a very big difference between a leader and a manager.  A manager focusses on the detail and is primarily responsible for achieving some task with particular paremeters that are given.  Leaders are not shackled by any constraints.  They think big and put big ideas into action.  They are courageous and define the terrain the debate. Leaders are responsible for the vision of an organisation and managers are responsible for the mission
