Positioning Map is used to determine where an organisation can position them self in the Market to expand their market and it can also be used to identify barriers to entry. On the other hand this mapping can identify where their is an opening for new entrants in the market so that an organisation can raise the barriers to entry for new entrants.

 

Such model cant be relied in isolation but can give a potential understanding.
