I agree to some extent as marketing helps business provide the visibility required. But it also depends on what product or service you are offering. If you have sub-standard product/service, no amount of marketing can help any business.

I totally agree that the Marketing should be the focal point of formulating strategy of an organisation, but unfortunately in this region it is still regarded as Sales/Advertising.
