What do you think to start my career in sales because I've got a good opportunity to work in Qatar although i'm a Jr. Civil Engineer?

The problem that I'm afraid from sticking in Sales and waste my Civil Engineering Certificate .

Hello Rakan! Salam!!

If I were you, I try this opportunity because it's too hard to suffer a jobless situation while you wait for a job opportunity in civil engineering. Never think that you are wasting your Master's degree in Civil Engineering Certificate because your knowledge in civil engineering is in your brain and an opportunity in our profession will come soon or later.

Make numbers and check if you can cover expenses in Qatar with the salary that the company offers you ( be sure that the accommodation is provided by the company because rents are expensive).

I wish I had an opportunity in sales like yours because I am unemployed and junior civil eng  ( Master's degree in Civil Engineering) looking for an opportunity in Middle East. I hope this opportunity comes soon, insha Allah!

I would like to suggest you that if you got a good job in any construction company in Qatar and if there no other good option with you right now, according to your appropriate profession:Civil Engineering. Then you can join there. If you once join in construction company there in Qatar then later on you can ask them(to HR) to convert/divert your profession/career from Sales to your accurate profession:Civil Engineering.
How you like my suggestion, please don't forget to share with me.

GO to Qatar my friend.I worked there and found the experience invaluable. If you find your heart is not in the technical civil field..then go to sales. We  need good marketers within the consulting civil engineering realm.

This is irony of most gulf countries that most of the doctors, engineers and skilled workers don't get good job or free recruitment, that's why they have to buy an ordinary visa with any profession to enter into the desired country, and there they will have to do several other works like sales and marketing or even a simple sales man, in meanwhile, they search good opportunities according to their specialities, once they find one, they ask their employer to give "no objection certificate" to switch to new employer.

Just go, it will add to your experience, because you know I'm experience in mechanical works for26 years but I have finished the5 year course of civil engineering.

Hey Rakan

Would be much better if you go for the sales job now and later ask the company to give you a change in work to Civil Engineer. Never waste your opportunity to go abroad to a country like Qatar.

I would do this if it was me

Well in such condition one must look to his/her interest because if one don't have the interest in sales then future growth prospects for him/ her are limited .
Seeing only good opportunity is not the solution .
But if one don't want to loose this good opportunity , he can choose for the duos i.e.
sale cum technical engineer .
In this there will be good hike , position and adventure of both the department simultaneously.
