Is it possible to place a total on each page of excel sheet in the footer?

No total of a matrix can not be put in Header or Footer.
You can only put format items like Page no., Date & Time, File name, an image (may be company logo) etc but not the result of a formula for a data that is in the main body of page being set-up for printing.
You may add the total for printing in the last line for the page that will equally serve the purpose but then you will have to leave a line in each page while preparing the sheet.
