never put a cylinder in opposite position. if its gas inside you can store it both ways vertically or horizontally, there is no difference. In case of liquid inside like LPG cylinder it is better to store vertically because if we put it horizontally the liquid will exert more pressure on valve and has a greater chances of leakage.
