In my opinion compensation to your claim to include your car under your homeowners insurance policy will be  effected  in on case which is depend on the scope of cover of the insurance policy , in other words the details of the interest insured . In case that you had include your car with your other belongings and home contents the insurance company will pay you for the car damage IF :-

A) your car is not on use and just stored in the garage.

B) Consequent to point (A) above mentioned , you have NO Motor comprehensive insurance policy for your car.

Thanking you

The answer is No, your Home-owner's Insurance will not cover your car if there is fire in your garage.  What coverage you will need for your car is a Comprehensive coverage, or Physical Damage coverage to your car insurance.  This means that, if your car is damaged due to a fire, falling objects, a fallen tree, tornado, lightning, etc. then you will need comprehensive coverage to your car.
