Microsoft made major improvements in Office's user interface and application functionality, but the lack of an iPad version is concerning

Microsoft is also getting props for advancements in cloud functionality. While Microsoft will continue selling Office via an upfront, perpetual licence - the product branded Office2013 - it will also let people buy the suite as a cloud-based subscription service, which carries the existing Office365 brand.

Other cloud enhancements include tighter integration with the company's SkyDrive cloud-storage service, which will let Office users save files online, making them accessible from multiple devices. Office will also save settings and preferences to the cloud, so they can be synchronised across a user's different computers. A feature called Office on Demand will even let users stream a full version of Office on the fly to PCs they don't own for use during specific, one-time sessions.

"The cloud is a big theme in this release. We see Microsoft's cloud strategy for Office evolving and taking another big step," Webster said.

== Microsoft Office Applications are outstanding, widely-spread and easily to use by variety of Computer users, But if one of the followings happened, MO might be no longer persist:
1- Appearance of Competitive Company to MO Cooperation that releases overestimated, unique and simple new packages of Software with simple text editors, which might replace our valuable and ordinary MO Word as well as Excel, and so on.
2- A decline in Office usage may occur, together with its "host" platform, Windows!!! == In fact, I do not expect Microsoft Office ceasing or dying off in the next10 years, due to: a)- The Continuous capability of MO company to update and release the latest versions of its suites with several remarkable functions.
b)- MS Office is a huge business for Microsoft, and MO intensively works on supporting their entire enterprise software portfolio.
They will do whatever it takes to keep companies buying upgrades, including but not limited to making business applications work better with the newest versions of Office.
c)- There is also the huge Microsoft enterprise software ecosystem which covers all kind of software providers, ranging from ISVs to SAP d)- The popularity of "cloud document editing" is going to continue to rise, and accounts for several Business Companies' success and their wide-spreading services.
Microsoft stands expectantly and with open eye to every change and requirements of global marketing, business, science, innovations and political developments, in order to adapt, transform and Office will continue to be dominant.
e)- Another value can be added to MS Office is to its Excel; the excellent spreadsheet program for all users at different levels and corresponding career types.
So, they can apply ranges, formula, macros and VBA in Excel for their recommended tasks.
Microsoft is working well with Excel and is almost the price of entry in Business Intelligence, one of the rare enterprise software sectors that is growing rapidly.
== The Open Office might help such business sections or industrial divisions, but really there is no such comparison.
Doing jobs perfectly by Open Office can be one thing, and enjoyable working with MO will add a value to MS Office use, because MS Office makes it pleasurable, easy, and it just works.
== Once users become invested in a program it is hard to get them to drop it.
The exclusive use of MS Office will make the chance to force one of MO users to move for other suites is impossible. The variety of devices and operative systems in MS Office is building the need for a more transverse application, more likely to be a suite than other MO contenders' suites.
== But if you are using OpenOffice and receive a document from a partner who is on Office2010 and the Word Comments just would not show up on OpenOffice, that will definitely be MS Office killer right there.

In my opinion, Kingsoft office2013 will tarnish Ms office software soon, unless they(Microsoft) come up with another great invention in order to maintain their reputation.

Since Microsoft Office gets better after every release, it would be hard to find a replacement.
It is easy to use and people are used to its working environment and features.
It caters the needs from beginner to professional level
