How can you convince an employer to hire you if you don't meet minimal job requirements (for example, not enough or non-related experience)?

I'd like to mention that I'm a mechanical engineer with9 months experience in patent translation,  and if anyone could advise me on the matter with respect to my background, that would be great. Also, please consider the case of applying for an engineering position.

Thanks!

Eventhough I don't meet the minimal job requirements. I can be a good employer also, I am passionate and loyal about my job. I am a good follower and I can adapt easily in terms of people, environment and situations. And I am willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays and even late nights.. And most off all I am willing to undergo trainings to meet the requirements needed. Thank yOu..
