at any company, i work at, i keep seeing products road maps .
the product road map is out of date almost immediately because knowledge is constantly gained from market analysis and interactions with customer.
Product road maps are dangerous When you let a product road map guide you you let the past drive the future Instead of the road map, just look out a few weeks at a time.
Work on the next most important thing.
Identify and verify customers’ goals, behaviors, and attitudes.

I would say yes under one assumption: that customer feedback has been carefully screened and filtered until something useful to the product is gathered.
The logic being that a product is made for an industry and that industry is represented by the people working on it.
These people have just told you what they needed to make the industry work, didn't they? It would be a waste not to make use of it as long as you made sure this input does add value to your product.
