I agree with all the previous answers.
You are able to protect formula's, and specific rows and columns.
You may hide columns or rows, and once the sheet is protected by "Sheet Structure", users will not be able to review hidden columns or formulas.
The more drop-down selections there are for users, the more accurate the data sheet and more consistent the data will be.
My personal favourite; hide formulas with in a specific cell and row; which you are unable to hide the entire row or column by using CUSTOM FORMAT ;;
BUT the worksheet must be structure password protected, otherwise the cell will get over-written.
1. Select all content from the file
2. Change the text color as background of the file
3. Save this file
a .Select Review Tab Ribbon
Choose: Protect Sheet or Protect Workbook ( use password protection.
b. Select Home Tab Ribbon in on each menu there is a small arrow pointing down right.. click and the format cell will popup on select Protection tab then uncheck Locked: then press ok..
select particular cells to lock then go to worksheet then right click then
- protect sheet then put the password.. You formulas are protected .. but still you can use other cell for entering data.
