Start3ds max.

From File menu select Import. The Select File to Import dialog box appears [Figure2].

From Files of type list select AutoCAD (*.DWG).

Locate and open3d_house.dwg. The DWG Import dialog box appears [Figure3].

Here you may select any of the options as the scene is empty. Click OK. The Import AutoCAD DWG File dialog box appears [Figure4].

Make sure that Layer is selected in Derive Objects By section [Figure4]. Click OK. The model appears in viewports [Figure5].
