I will advice u never trust them.  In India we had Sharda and Sahara scams and many poor people lost their money.

Investing in banking is secure than investing in non-financial companies.

Risks involved in investing non-financial companies are,

 

1. Exchange rate risk

2. Interest rate risk

3. Government policies

4. Market Risk

5. Liquidity Risk

6. Inflation risk etc.
