What is meant by shop drawing
A shop drawing is a detailled drawing used for the project. Detailled as with all the measurements, elevations, rebar, bolts, weldings etc. Depends on what type of shop drawing you mean
Shop drawing is prepared from design drawing/contract drawing, soil investigation report, specification, the site condition and some item manufacturer recommandations will be including. Based on shop drawing site work will execute. Before execution shop drawing should be approved from concern authority(consultant/client).
Shop Drawing generally meant the drawing which is submitted before execution of works prepared by the contractor and submitted to the Consultants or Client. It can be slightly different than Design or Tender drawings because of site conditions or some time due to huge gap between design and construction stages that's why known as shop drawings which contains complete site details for execution as per site situation as following the Design Drawings of project.
Shop drawings are generally will be stage drawings. If a compenent need to be manufactured in diffrent stages, a shop drawing or stage drawing will specify the manufacturing stages in the drawing. Such as before/after a machinig stage and before/after bending ..etc. Design drwaings may not have all these details as they are free to give the finished componet specs in the sheet.
Hope i am clear with it.
