May you type of pump is suitable for pumping river intake VERTICAL TURBINE PUMP OR SUBMERGED CENTRIFUGAL PUMP?

May you  tell me what type of pump is suitable for pumping turbid river water from river intake having appriximate depth of river bed of20 meter from pump floor level? is it VERTICAL TURBINE PUMP OR SUBMERGED CENTRIFUGAL PUMP?

vertical turbine pumps are Recomended for this application because it can handle large quantities of Fluid at River at this depth without Cavtation.

The main advantage of Centrifugal pumps is that they are frequently used for large discharge through smaller heads, while a Submersible pump prevents pump cavitations, which occur due to a high elevation difference between pump and fluid surface.

Submersible pumps are used extensively  for drainage, industrial pumping and sewage pumping.

Vertical Turbine pump and submersible pump both are suitable.

Using portable submersible pump is easy.

But when we use Vertical Turbine pump we need a rigid platform concrete or steel to place the pump over it, and do the necessary pipings.

in the intake , you need much flow rather than pressure , therefore the centrifugal pump is the recommended one
