Running your own business is not for everyone. Its not necessary that if you are good at Sales & marketing, you can run a business successfully. Some people have the temperament to do business & others have not. They feel more comfortable doing a job.
If you have the business temprament, do it, it can be a wonderful experience.
There are certain advantages of doing a job than running own your own business.
1- Job gives you a sense of security:
- If you loose a job, you will find another soon. But if you fails to run your business, it will never give you another opportunity.
2- Job gives you the financial security:
- You earn a fix salary (and of course a bonus + reward). In business, there are always swings in the home taking and cash flows.
3- Job gives you fixed working hours (mostly):
- Most of us need to work 9-5 while on job. Business demand extra time mostly.
4- Job gives you more rewards than pressures:
- Doing business has certain limitation and you need to face so many people and processes to run a business. Doing job is so easy, you have to only face your boss.
5- Job gives you the opportunity to learn more:
- You get the opportunity to attend certain in-house training courses and even out-source training as well that further polishes your skills. A businessman doesn't have such liberty (both in time & money).
6- Job gives you the liberty to take a change if opportunity arises:
- In business you don't have such liberty.

The second thing is "Launching and managing a business are two different stories"
