The first thing I would do is to gain the students' trust. Generally these students have bad experiences that dettach them from everything in general. Thus, building a trust based relationship helps them regain their self confidence and find their aspirations.

Encouragement plays an important role in the success of a student. Teachers should find out strengths of weak students and applaud him with encouraging words.  If a student  is given confidence, he will feel his importance and worth. Once confidence level of a weak student increases, he will improve.

Some weak learners also have a problem that they forget what they learn. That’s why such student loses confidence and he starts differentiating himself from good students. Teacher’s duty here is to give student tips on how to recall and how to write systematically.

  • Teachers should also try to find if there are any physical or mental problems with weak students. For example, if a student is unable to write something from board, he may have some eye defect. Some students may also suffer from physical problems which make them lazy. Teachers should find problems first and then treat students accordingly.
  • Try to be a friend to the weak student. When a friendship is built, student starts loving his teacher and after that he obeys whatever his teacher says.

You must first find out the areas of interest of the student. This way, activities and lessons geared towards their interests can be created. If the lessons are boring or do not relate to the student in any way, then the person will loose interest and motivation. Try to find out what the person does for fun and make an activity geared towards speaking or writing about that. This can be done at all levels in tandem with teaching specific grammar points.

what i know is that no one is void. Get to know what the child knows best and what that child can do best and encourage the child. You can do that by motivation
