OUTWARD AND INWARD LOOKING BEHAVIOUR

Any leader has to put his aggregated experience and negotiate with the then situtaion to arrive at a decision. He can arrive it by looking/seeking solutions applied and tried by competition, peers, colleagues or even at home.

The leader has to have the ability to identify an outward looking Behaviour  (What has been the solution by others) rather than an  inward looking Behaviour (What he decided single handedly).

The leadership varies from the dominant leader to the influential leader to the stable leader and finally the conservative leader

a situational leader is not necessary the CEO or MD, but the person who is best able to deal with a specific situation at the time and who has the best skills.  It does mean that a CEO/MD should recognise this and allow the indvidual to take the leadership in that particular circumstance without having to rely on positional power.  It requires from the CEO/MD the ability to assess the situation, take stock of the leadership team at his/her disposal and then apply his mind to ensuring that the best solution for the business is applied
