What is the best way to start drawing comics?

Hi Dana, In addition to the above, a good place to start is with a proper story.
Divide the events into panels that can easily be followed by the reader.
It is good to first draw the scenes in pencil.
After penciling, you can then use a drawing pen to add lines and shadows.
This process called inking.
After inking, you can scan the artwork and use third party software like Photoshop or Photopaint to do the colouring.

You must have command to draw realistic (life sketching) first then you will able to draw comics, because to draw comics you should have deep knowledge and strong observation about jestures and anatomy.

Hi Dana, Basically Comic is a humorous way to deliver our opinion or to show what's run in my mind.
So You just have to select what you want to show / tell and remember comic is the best way where your drawing is not the most important but your thinking is.

But I would say, it really depends..
are you a beginner who wants to start from scratch and get in to Art? or you are an Artist who is finding a better way, more advanced and without real papers and pens? Yet another question: regarding your question, you means a single character drawing? or an actual comic series and books?
