There are a number of certifications for SW Architecture that overlap with IS.  Some are vendor specific such as Microsoft MCSD, Sun Certified Enterprise Architect, etc and then there are vendor neutral ones such as AGILE Certified Professional, TOGAF, Certified Software Development Professional (IEEE).  All of the certifications have some over lap and commonality when teaching disciplined approaches to standards, processes, but will differ in some areas of their own IP.  As for value, it depends on the goal.  If you want alphabet soup of certifications to stand out sure it works, but its an expensive way to boost your profile, and in reality the training/certification should accompany or parallel work you are doing or seeking to do so you can see how the theory and reality line up.  Pick a certification that compliments or strengthens your existing skills and it will give you value that you can then present to your future employer.  Hope that answers your question.
