Two big obstacles in putting together an effective program for bringing in more clients and increasing revenue from existing clients are: ATTITUDE and TIME.
Laws and regulations and systems
And the quality of staff
There can not be just one, can be one of many, depending on situation, i.e,:
1. Lack of knowledge
1.1 of product &/or services being provided
1.2 market
1.3 competitors and competitive advantage
2. Lack of strategy as in improper or absence of;
2.1 planning
2.2 coordination with company vision &/or policy
2.3 team coordination
2.4 after sales service
2.5 marketing / branding
2.6 active online presence
3. Improper or absence of Positive Attitude / behavior / communication skills
In my personal opinion there are two major obstacles in business development:
First is attitude ( cause everything is all about the image) and second, time.
Not having clear picture of where the business should be in the years to come. Development only comes when objectives are defined.
Lack of a vision, clear sense of direction or goal, lack of understanding of what action plans are
needed to ensure the goal is achieved and above all, lack of confidence to carry out those plans.
The main obstacles are:
1-Bad decision making
2-Recruiting employees with different major of expertise
3-Having no business communication skills
4- not being diplomatic
*AND not using the most of the resources (lack of efficiency and effectiveness
The major obstacle in business development is basically lack of identifying right customer segment..
1. lack of product presentation
2. Positioning at the right time, Timing matters a lot in what product you are dealing
3. Promotion
4. Pricing
5. Customer reach
6. Last but not the least is the human resources.. Right people on the right job..
if there is no clear vision and mission
sometimes from culture of owner, human resources
