I think so because a graduation degree does not offer experience on the "field" or how to face diverse clients or product needs. No book or school will get you100% ready for the next job. I think it's best to do voluntary work, or interships (paid or not) along with school. That way you'll perform better on both field, school and work and also be better viewed when you apply for your first real job.
