We need to check deviation in aft most area of ship. we need to find the time and temprature at which deviation and shrinkage is minimum to instal Shaft , A bracket and P bracket. we can acchieve maximum accuracy level for A bracket, P bracket and shafting.

We place scale at three framers at aft ( three frames chosen to achieve accuracy level) both at Port and Starboard side. we check  both horizontal and vertical deviation at a difference of one hour and also write temprature. At what time deviation is minimum , that time is decided installation time for shft, A-bracket and P bracket. horizontal and vertical deviation is called Stern Drop. Why Stern Drop because it is done at the Aft area of Ship.
